Authenticated shared-key decryption

 **sodium_crypto_secretbox_open** string $ciphertext string $nonce string $key

Decrypt an encrypted message with a symmetric (shared) key.

ciphertext Must be in the format provided by (ciphertext and tag, concatenated). sodium_crypto_secretbox

nonce A number that must be only used once, per message. 24 bytes long. This is a large enough bound to generate randomly (i.e. ). random_bytes

keyEncryption key (256-bit).

The decrypted string on successreturn.falseforfailure.

  • If has a length of bytes different than (24 bytes), a will be thrown. nonceSODIUM_CRYPTO_SECRETBOX_NONCEBYTESSodiumException
  • If has a length of bytes different than (32 bytes), a will be thrown. keySODIUM_CRYPTO_SECRETBOX_KEYBYTESSodiumException
